no space on the inca trail, entering machupicchu via sun gate, came with us to the less touristy trek rout including machupicchu. we offer you an alternative trek. our treks don't enter machupicchu through the famous sun gate, but we offer to enjoy your trek through the quiet valleys rich in nature, culture and isolated peaks.

The spectacular scenery of the Lares Valley a remote and rarely visited region offer to the adventure people a real lives of the Andean farmers, dressed in their traditional colored customs specially the ponchos, we will see several thatched roof stone houses surrounded by herds of llamas and alpacas, small villages of shepherds and weavers in the highland, the trek is moderate class, the trek combines spectacular scenery with glacier mountains, authentic quiche speaking communities.

This three-day trekking, exploring, discovering along to the Urubamba mountain range, where is located the Lares valley is another perfect alternative for those unable to book the Inca trail, the trek is a combination of the real authentic Quechua communities with nice mountains, valleys. The first night we can enjoy the hot springs near to our campsite and we can interact with Quechua farmers of Choqquecancha, Huacahuasi, Ipsayqocha, Patacancha, willoq, finally the third night we board the train ride for 2 hours to reach the Machu Picchu town, overnight at comfortable lodging. Last day early guided visit to Machu Picchu Inca City.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: CUSCO - CALCA - LARES VALLEY.

We leave from Cusco city by bus early during the morning, it will be a long drive approximately 5 hours with several stops along the way, also the bus ride is with spectacular views, through part of the sacred valley, we'll arrive to Lares District and our campsite is near to the hot springs 3,150m.a.s.l. / 10,170ft. Here we just drop our equipment then we'll continue by bus to the one of the famous Quechua community called Choquecancha, where we can interact with locals specially with women whose are specialist making textiles (back strap looms). There will be a good chance to know about the local weavers, some thing amazing is to find in a middle of the community the remains of an impressive Inca construction, which one has a panoramic view of the all valley, after to explore the community way back to the campsite hiking, now we have a great option to jump to the hot spring pools.

DAY 2: LARES - HUACAHUASI - IQSAYQOCHA.

We start our second day meeting our "arrieros" (horse handlers). This day morning our trail has a gradually ascend toward to Huacahuasi farmers community, this area is a big valley with rich farming fields, during the afternoon up hill toward the high pass approximately 4,400m.a.s.l. / 14,500ft. this area considered as a highland we can appreciate heard of llamas and alpacas around the hike, our campsite is near to the highland lake with several rainbow trout and beautiful views.

DAY 3: IPSAYCOCHA - HUILLOC - MACHU PICCHU.

Today is a relaxing day all the hike is downhill, we hike toward to two Andean communities Patacacnha, Huilloq and finally Ollantayatambo town. where again we can appreciate that the most of the population specially women are expert weavers and every body even the children with traditional costumes like the hats, ponchos, blankets, etc,where late afternoon we catch the train for 2 hours to Machu Picchu town, overnight at comfortable lodging.

DAY 4: MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO

Early in the morning, we'll catch the bus up to the Inca city of Machu Picchu to enjoy a guided tour or this enigmatic site. After the tour there will be time to wander around and appreciate the beauty and mystery of Machu Picchu. Later on, you may choose to climb Wayna Picchu 2,600m.a.s.l. / 8,850ft. the peak overlooking the area. Around mid-afternoon we'll catch the bus back to the train station for the return trip to Cusco. The tracks run along the Urubamba river valley, the route taken by Hiram Bingham in 1911 when he re-discovered Machu Picchu. On the arrival to Cusco we transfer to the hotel.
